This handwoven textile is made from entirely from golden silk, a traditional Thai silk. Silkworms are raised and hand-reeled in rural Thailand. Carefully woven in our studio. Its matte sheen and uneven hand-reeled texture give it a primitive elegance.
The yarn is dyed with extract from Teak leaves, applied lightly to the silk fiber to achieve this shade. This restrained dyeing process results in a color that acquires a complex, silver-gold like luster depending on the light.
