COTTON KIBISO SILK / KUSAGI GRAY 45×190
This shawl is woven with a cotton and KIBISO Silk, outermost layer of the cocoon. Known for its uneven thickness and textured surface, KIBISO yarn is reeled by hand using traditional methods in rural villages in Northern Thailand.
KIBISO Silk harmonizes with the suppleness of cotton, creating a fabric with a distinctly slubbed, expressive texture.
The yarn is dyed first in a pale blue using Kusagi (Clerodendrum trichotomum) fruit dye, followed by a light application of ebony dye to create this grey hue. Compared to a single-dyed grey, this double-dyed shade possesses depth and complex undertones.
