This shawl is woven with a cotton and KIBISO Silk, outermost layer of the cocoon. Known for its uneven thickness and textured surface, KIBISO yarn is reeled by hand using traditional methods in rural villages in Northern Thailand.
KIBISO Silk harmonizes with the suppleness of cotton, creating a fabric with a distinctly slubbed, expressive texture.
The color of this shawl is born from the traditional wisdom of layering dyes: a combination of Indigo Dyeing and Ebony Dyeing. The result is a complex, profound deep scorched brown that defies a simple description. Dark brown, light brown, black, Navy, and deep grey—creating an organic depth akin to tree bark.
